Emissions from Viking Line's ships have fallen by a third in 15 years

Viking Line has succeeded in reducing the emissions of its ships by a third over the past 15 years. The investments made in the most climate-friendly ships as well as the technology on board have paid off.

The two ships Viking Glory and Viking Grace are already equipped to run on environmentally friendly fuels soon. Dani Lindberg, Sustainability Manager at Viking Line says: "We have mainly achieved emission reductions through innovative technological solutions that are not very visible to passengers. The technology is developing at a rapid pace, and many of these innovations originated in Finland.”

Viking Line has been committed to sustainability work since the 1980s. The activities are deeply rooted in the company's environmental work. For Baltic Sea Day on 25 August, the company will donate 30,000 euros to the John Nurminen Foundation.
