Passengers can reduce their emissions at Viking Line

Guests on Viking Line can reduce emissions from their journey by up to 90 per cent

Viking Line offers passengers on the Turku-Åland-Stockholm route the opportunity to purchase renewable biofuel in proportion to the amount of fuel used for their journey. Guests thus reduce the emissions of their voyage by up to 90 per cent.

The extra charge is less than 5 euros for a cruise between Turku and Stockholm. For this amount, passengers reduce their carbon footprint by up to 90 per cent compared to a voyage using liquefied natural gas (LNG). The amount of liquefied biogas (LBG) is based on the average fuel consumption per passenger. European biogas is produced from waste materials and supplied by the Nordic energy company Gasum to the climate-friendly ships Viking Glory and Viking Grace.

Viking Line is the first shipping company on the Baltic Sea to offer this option to its passengers.
