Icelandair passenger numbers up 9% in October
In October 2023, Icelandair carried 364,000 passengers, 9% more than in October last year. So far this year, the company has carried around 3.7 million passengers, 18% more than in the same period last year.
In October, 152,000 passengers travelled to Iceland, 53,000 from Iceland, 136,000 overland passengers and 24,000 passengers within Iceland. The load factor was 81.5 %, an improvement of 1.3 per cent compared to the previous year, and punctuality was 80.2 %.
Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, emphasises healthy growth, new destinations and the SPAA Airline of the Year award as possible reasons.
