Hurtigruten Norway presents its first hybrid ship

The MS Richard With of Hurtigruten Norway's fleet is being upgraded to a hybrid ship. Seven ships of the entire fleet will follow by 2023. Thanks to the conversion, 25% fewer CO2 emissions and 80% fewer NOx emissions will be emitted in the future.

There are also advantages of the upgrade for the guests; they will soon enjoy the Norwegian coasts on the ultra-modern mail ship in an environmentally friendly and quiet way.

The shipping company plans to set sail with the first completely emission-free ship by 2030. Until then, the company will continue to invest in technologies to make the traditional journeys as sustainable as possible. Among other things, all ships already have a shore power connection and run on biofuel.
