This year's SOA TRAVEL award winners

After two years without the Scandinavian Outdoor Award TRAVEL, the time had finally come again: The lucky winners of the Scandinavian Outdoor Award TRAVEL 2023 were announced during ITB. At the jury meeting on the evening before the start of ITB, the jury agreed on winners in a total of four categories.

Jury Members 2023

We congratulate the award winners:

SOA Travel 2023 - Best Outdoor Destination Koli-Lieksa _ Finnland © KontraPixel - Jana Erb

Best Outdoor Destination:
Koli-Lieksa / Finland

The jury was convinced by the holistic four-season concept for several target groups.
The region combines different types of accommodation, responsible nature tourism and a focus on integrating locals with growth that meets the needs of the region.

SOA Travel 2023 Best Sustainability Concept Visit Kristinestad © KontraPixel - Jana Erb

Best Sustainability Concept:
Visit Kristinestad / Finland

In the jury’s opinion, implementing sustainability through responsibility and accountability for every member of the community creates true and lasting sustainability. Kristinestad shows us that this long-term teamwork can transform a small town between places into an interesting destination, and that THIS can be managed by destinations of any size.

SOA Travel 2023 - Best Accommodation Panhytter © KontraPixel - Jana Erb

Best Accommodation:
Panhytter / Norway

The idea of building accommodation that is very easy to relocate, without leaving the typical traces in the environment and yet creating a deep connection with the surrounding nature, convinced the jury. The extraordinary architecture allows a minimum of surface sealing.

SOA Travel 2023 Best Outdoor Product for Individuals Polar Lights Tours © KontraPixel - Jana Erb

Best Outdoor Product for Individuals:
Polar Lights Tours / Finland

Instead of checking off one item on your bucket list, this product takes you on a treasure hunt for the hidden gems of the region. Slow travel on horseback makes you want to stay longer.

SOA TRAVEL Award

The Scandinavian Outdoor Award TRAVEL was first awarded in 2018. The award was initiated by Jan Badur/NordicMarketing and Matthias Aßmann/MANDEL. SOA TRAVEL will be given out to travel destinations and tourism companies once a year and evaluates the previous years´ achievement.
