Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn among the 15 cheapest Airbnb cities in Europe

Moneyzine's financial experts wanted to reveal the European cities where Airbnb accommodation offers better value for money compared to hotels. The top 15 destinations include Nordic cities such as Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn.

In Europe, average hotel prices as well as airfares have increased this year. Consumers are paying more and more attention to price in the face of strong inflation. That's why the team at Moneyzine looked at Airbnb.com and Trivago to determine the average cost per night for Airbnbs and hotels in 35 European cities and identified the European destinations where Airbnb accommodation is the cheaper option than a hotel.

Istanbul and Athens top the list. Helsinki comes in at number 8, Stockholm follows at number 13 and Tallinn at number 14.

On the other hand, Oslo in Norway stood out as a city where a single hotel room for an overnight stay is on average about $8 cheaper than an Airbnb.
