Tromsø and Svalbard are hosting the Meaningful Travel Summit in Norway

The non-profit organisation Tourism Cares is bringing the travel and tourism industry together in Tromsø and Svalbard to create positive social, environmental and economic benefits for communities around the world at the Meaningful Travel Summit.

More than 50 travel and tourism industry leaders and decision-makers, including leading tour operators, travel media, cruise lines, industry associations and others will be in the Norwegian Arctic to explore how pristine wilderness and incredible natural wonders can benefit while facing the negative impacts of tourism.

"Our Meaningful Travel Summit creates a collaborative space for industry leaders to come together and create action plans for using travel as a means of protection, conservation and essential change for the future," says Greg Takehara, CEO of Tourism Cares.

Over five days, Tourism Cares, in collaboration with Innovation Norway, will share best practices for travel companies and destination managers on how to balance conservation and preservation with community needs.
