Rørosbanen: from Trondheim to Oslo by train

New passenger trains on the Rørosbanen from Trondheim to Oslo in Norway

Bane Nor opened a new maintenance facility in Støren in August. Following the use of Stadler trains on the Trønderbanen, they will also run on the Rørosbanen from Trondheim to Hamar from December to replace the overcrowded diesel units.

From May to September 2023, some of the trains will be run from Hamar to Oslo on a trial basis. The route will continue to be offered if the demand remains strong. The direct connection from Trondheim to Oslo was discontinued around 34 years ago.
