New group offer in the footsteps of Astrid Lindgren in Småland, Sweden

Cykla i Filmlandskapet Småland, in collaboration with Astrid Lindgrens Näs in Vimmerby and Filmbyn Småland in Mariannelund, presents a new offer to get to know Astrid Lindgren. Visitors not only get the opportunity to explore the life of the beloved author, but also her childhood surroundings, the settings of her stories and the flavors she cherished.

Recently introduced to international tour operators, this offer promises unforgettable insights into the legacy of Astrid Lindgren. "The offer is aimed at groups who want to get to know Astrid Lindgren and her life, books and films a little better. Together we can offer a comprehensive experience with many unforgettable moments," says Sofia Johnsson, Managing Director of Astrid Lindgrens Näs.

The journey begins at Astrid Lindgrens Näs in Vimmerby, where visitors are invited to the exhibition "Astrid Lindgren and the power of fairy tales", which opened in 2023. Guided tours offer access to Astrid's childhood home, where her remarkable journey as a storyteller began. At Filmbyn Småland in Mariannelund, visitors are immersed in the world of Astrid Lindgren's films, surrounded by unique film sets and original props. The behind-the-scenes stories offer an insight into the work of filmmaking.

"This collaboration meets the demand we see in the German market: gentle adventure combined with cultural experiences," comments Hanna Glans, International Project Manager at Småland Tourism. For those who want to delve further into the culture and nature of Småland, additional activities await. Guided bike tours take groups to iconic filming locations in Mariannelund, Katthult and Bullerbyn and meander through picturesque Småland landscapes. A walk as Ronja through Norra Kvills National Park reveals the forests that inspired Astrid Lindgren's adventure stories.

"The experience is suitable for curious, conscious and fun-loving travelers who want to combine knowledge and nostalgia with nature, culture and taste experiences. Together, we want to create more travel opportunities throughout the year and ensure that groups visiting Småland have unique, personal experiences," says Carina Eldåker, co-owner of Cykla i Filmlandskapet Småland. She emphasizes that the offer is available all year round and can be adapted as desired.

As visitors travel through Astrid Lindgren's Småland, they not only immerse themselves in her world, but also create unforgettable memories surrounded by the magic of storytelling, nature and culture.
