Connecting, learning, and growing together at the NordicCommunity Day by NordicMarketing
On April 29, 2025, the first-ever NordicCommunity Day took place – a new digital networking format by NordicMarketing. This free online event brought together international tourism trade partners and suppliers from across the Nordic and Baltic regions on the Converve platform.
The focus: effortless networking, building new connections, and exchanging ideas on the opportunities and challenges of digital events in the tourism industry.
Compact, effective, and globally connected
With a total of 117 participants (72 suppliers and 45 buyers), the pilot event was very well attended. 221 meetings were held within just three hours – clear proof of the ongoing demand for targeted, digital networking opportunities.
The day kicked off with the webinar “Smart Connections: The Evolution of Online Sales Events in Tourism”, moderated by Jan Badur.
Buyers and suppliers shared their experiences with digital formats, reflected on the role of the NordicCommunity, and discussed their expectations for the future of online B2B networking.
Our webinar speakers:
They offered valuable insights into strategies, challenges, and opportunities in digital B2B networking – and discussed how virtual meetings can lead to meaningful, real-world connections.
What the community wants
Following the event, we collected feedback. First ideas and suggestions from the live chat are diverse and inspiring:
- Themed matchmaking events around specific interests, target groups, or products (e.g. nature travel, cycling holidays, Archipelago Trail)
- Destination-focused events, especially those tied to accessibility (e.g. new flight routes or regional product launches)
- Open morning networking sessions twice a year, in the style of NordicCommunity Day
- Informal webinars as a low-threshold opportunity for exchange
Some members would also like to see the NordicCommunity platform used more as a communication hub – for direct messaging between partners – or as a news pin board for sharing product updates. Other ideas included short video greetings in user profiles and additional profile fields, such as allotment availability or price range segments in buyer profiles.
We also expect constructive feedback from all participants via a form.
Shaping the future – together with the community
From small suppliers in the north to regional tourism boards and large tour operators: the positive feedback reflects how diverse the needs are within the NordicCommunity. That’s why open dialogue is so essential. All feedback collected will directly inform the planning of future events and the further development of the platform.
We sincerely thank all participants for their active contributions – and we look forward to the next NordicCommunity Day!
