Situated in the heart of Europe’s largest lake district, Lake Saimaa’s stunning nature, clean food, attractions and great opportunities for outdoor activities make it one of the best places in Europe to visit for a holiday. In the summer time the most popular activities are cruises, stand up paddling, biking, hiking and fishing. One specialty of the region are the visa-free cruises from Lappeenranta to Russia (Vyborg, St. Petersburg).
