We warmly invite you to get to know the Swedish-Finnish destination HaparandaTornio on a FAM trip from September 16 to 19, 2022.
You will meet representatives of the region and the local suppliers and they will present you what to expect in the northernmost twin city in the world, located in the inspiring border region of Swedish and Finnish Lapland.

HaparandaTornio is the gateway to Swedish and Finnish Lapland, great to combine with other destinations in both countries. We operate in two countries, in two time zones, in two cultures. We offer the cross-border experiences in our arctic border city in Lapland by the Bothnian Bay.

Authentic, regional, cross-border experiences

HaparandaTornio is a great option when you want to offer local experiences. We do not have tourist hubs or crowded places. Many well-known attractions are nearby and easy to visit from our destination e.g. Arctic Circle, Santa Claus Village, SnowCastle365, Icebreaker Sampo and Polar Explorer. There is plenty of nature around, relaxed and laid-back life with fascinating history and culture to experience.

Our gems are the cross-border products such as the double new-year celebration, arctic archipelago with two national parks and Kukkola village with unique culture and beautiful nature. Arctic well-being is the key factor in our destination. Food is local and made from the ingredients collected from our forests, sea and river. Sauna experiences are available in various forms from the world 's biggest sauna to small smoke saunas. We offer both modern Scandinavian and rustic traditional hotels and restaurants.

How to get to HaparandaTornio

We are located on the world's friendliest border, 1.5 hours from Luleå, Rovaniemi and Oulu; 30 minutes from Kemi and Kalix. Welcome to HaparandaTornio - Two Countries - One Destination.

FAM Trip in cooperation with HaparandaTornio -
Two Countries, One Destination

This fam trip is organized in cooperation with our partner, the HaparandaTornio region in Swedish and Finnish Lapland, and is aimed exclusively at selected tour operators from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. As with all NordicMarketing FAM trips, the number of participants is limited and deliberately kept small for quality reasons.
The host of this fam trip is Noora Barria from the destination HaparandaTornio; no one from the NordicMarketing team will accompany the trip this time.

Flights, accommodation and meals included

On this FAM trip, the costs of the trip are covered completely by the destination. This includes not only the flights to/ from the destination, but also local transfers, accommodation, meals, activities, and sightseeing. For this reason, certain requirements and criteria apply to the selection of potential participants for fam trips in terms of position within the company as well as specialization or product portfolio of the tour operator.
