Scandic Victoria Florø to open as 19th franchise hotel, strengthening presence on the west coast
On December 1, 2025, the current Comfort Hotel Victoria in downtown Florø will be rebranded as Scandic Victoria Florø. Owned by the Helle family, the hotel will continue to be operated by them under a franchise agreement with Scandic, becoming the company’s first property in Norway’s westernmost city.
Florø: a destination for business and leisure
Known for its scenic beauty and strong local economy, Florø is an ideal location for Scandic’s expansion. Recently renovated, the hotel offers 97 rooms and meeting space for up to 150 guests. The Helle family plans to further develop the property under the Scandic brand.
“Franchises are a key part of our 2030 growth strategy. Strong local partnerships built on shared values allow us to expand into new destinations efficiently,” says Jens Mathiesen, President & CEO, Scandic Hotels Group.
A long-term partnership for growth
The franchise agreement with the Helle family will reinforce Scandic’s footprint in western Norway. “This hotel meets our high standards and has a strong local management team that aligns perfectly with Scandic’s culture,” explains Søren Nystrøm, Director of Franchise at Scandic.
For Ole Johan Helle, preserving the hotel’s heritage is key: “Victoria Hotel has been part of Florø for over 100 years. Partnering with Scandic allows us to maintain its identity while driving future development.”
Scandic’s 2030 vision
Scandic aims to add 40–50 new hotels and 10,000 rooms by 2030, with around 70% of growth in the Nordic region. Franchise hotels will play a vital role in enabling expansion into new markets.
