Scandic Victoria Florø marks key step in the company’s growth strategy
Scandic has officially opened its first hotel in Florø: the Scandic Victoria Florø, formerly known as Comfort Hotel Victoria. The opening highlights Scandic’s strategic move to expand its portfolio through additional franchise hotels.
Growing presence on Norway’s west coast
With 97 rooms and meeting facilities for up to 150 people, the new hotel strengthens Scandic’s footprint in western Norway and reinforces its position as the leading hotel company in the Nordics. The property will be operated in partnership with the Helle family, building on a long-term collaboration centred on delivering high-quality guest experiences.
Ambitious 2030 targets: More rooms, more brands, more franchise hotels
In February 2025, Scandic announced updated growth ambitions:
- Approx. 10,000 new rooms by 2030
- About 50% under the Scandic Go economy brand
- 30–40 new franchise hotels across the Nordics
“Expanding our franchise portfolio gives guests more destinations to experience Scandic,” says Asle Prestegard, COO at Scandic Hotels Group.
A refreshed hotel ready for locals and travelers
Owners Mads, Ole and Leif Arne Helle highlight the upgrades that lay the foundation for the hotel’s future: “We believe Scandic Victoria Florø will be a strong and appealing choice for both locals and leisure guests.”
Continued expansion across Norway
Earlier this year, Scandic opened its sixth signature property, The Dock 69°39 by Scandic, in Tromsø. Beyond Norway, the company has recently signed agreements for five additional hotels with more than 1,400 rooms.
