Norwegian and Strawberry work on common currency for customer loyalty program

Norwegian and Strawberry want to create a company that will offer a wider range of services to members of their respective loyalty programs.

The aim is to create a common loyalty currency and a platform where members can collect and use loyalty points for different programs. Norwegian and Strawberry will have equal stakes in the new company.

New digital loyalty currency

The digital loyalty currency will replace the loyalty points system. Members can collect points for hotel stays and also use them for airline tickets or vice versa.

The cooperation includes the loyalty programs Norwegian Reward and Strawberry's loyalty program. The scheme is expected to grow continuously to include new partners from the Nordic countries to offer members even more ways to earn and spend loyalty points. The new venture will reach a large share of Nordic households from the start.

Around 7.5 million members use Norwegian's and Strawberry's loyalty programs in the Nordic countries as a whole. Norwegian's and Strawberry's two existing loyalty programs will retain their customer offering as before and will continue to be owned by Norwegian and Strawberry respectively.
