Norwegian cruise line is among the first companies to receive new award for outstanding sustainability efforts

Hurtigruten was awarded the new “Made in Norway” label in Oslo on August 21, 2024, which honors Norwegian companies for outstanding quality and sustainability. The label is awarded through a demanding certification process and is intended to strengthen the competitiveness of Norwegian brands on the international market. Hurtigruten is one of the first 22 companies to receive this new label, which underlines the brand's deep roots in Norwegian history, culture and nature.

Hurtigruten's sustainability efforts include the Zero Food Waste initiative to avoid food waste and the SeaZero project, which aims to develop the first zero-emission ship by 2030. In addition, the Hurtigruten fleet is undergoing a comprehensive modernization process that will include four hybrid ships by the first quarter of 2025 to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 25%.
