ODDfest, Superterassi, Teurastamo Festival and À La Park bring fresh energy to Finland’s capital
Helsinki is gearing up for a vibrant summer 2025, with a record number of new events and festivals set to animate the city. From city squares to unexpected locations, the new formats focus on creativity, community, music, and culinary delights — inviting both locals and visitors to experience the Finnish capital with all their senses.
“Events make Helsinki lively, attractive and open. They foster togetherness and enrich urban culture,” says Paavo Arhinmäki, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Leisure. The city supports local initiatives that encourage spontaneity and community-driven formats.
Summer highlights at a glance
ODDfest (June 6–7, 2025)
Held at Lasipalatsikortteli, ODDfest is a hybrid between a festival and a conference, bringing together artists, tech experts, scientists and entrepreneurs. The programme blends daytime talks and workshops with evening performances and DJ sets. Under the theme “Chaos & Acceleration”, the event explores how innovation and creativity can shape the fast-changing world around us.
Superterassi & Kyrö Sauna Bar (June 12 – August 14, 2025)
Kasarmitori Square becomes a lively summer terrace with top-tier food vendors, live music, and engaging events for all ages. One standout feature is the Kyrö Sauna Bar, offering a chance to experience authentic Finnish sauna culture — right in the heart of the city, alongside local gin and drinks.
Teurastamo Festival (June 14, 2025)
Taking place in the urban hub of Teurastamo in Kalasatama, this new festival blends music, art, and street food in a laid-back, communal setting. Acts like Vesta, Litku Klemetti, Ursus Factory, and Giant Robot will perform on site. Visitors can explore an art gallery, taste local flavours and enjoy Helsinki’s creative side.
À la Park (August 1–3, 2025)
Taking over Meripuisto Park for three days, À La Park offers gourmet street food, fine drinks, and live music in a relaxed, summery setting. Highlights include performances by José González, BEHM, Egotrippi, and Yona, as well as a fine-dining experience at the pop-up Koti restaurant, curated by chef Pipsa Hurmerinta. Expect champagne bars, cocktail corners, and two music stages surrounded by seaside terraces.
A city of senses and culture
With its rich and varied programme, Helsinki is positioning itself as a hub of creativity and enjoyment for summer 2025. These events invite both residents and international guests to discover the city in new and exciting ways.
