Terminal 2 as "a new business card for Finland"

The expansion of Terminal 2 at Helsinki Airport will open on 1 December. From then on, travellers will be able to use the impressive main entrance, departure and arrival halls. On that day, the Travel Centre, the hub for different means of transport, will also be put into operation.

The architecture of the terminal is inspired by classic Finnish design. Passengers enter the departure hall through the architecturally impressive main entrance, whose wavy wooden roof is a real eye-catcher. During the day, the hall is filled with light through the large windows.

The terminal has been designed as "a new business card for Finland" says Henri Hansson, Finavia's senior vice president for technology and sustainability. "For many, Helsinki Airport is their first contact with our country. Terminal 2 is mostly Finnish high-quality work of which we can be proud.”
