Finavia allows 2 litres of liquids per passenger at Helsinki Airport

Finavia is simplifying security checks at Helsinki Airport and increasing the amount of liquids allowed in hand luggage to two litres per passenger from 28 June 2023.

New, more modern security screening equipment will allow liquid containers of more than one hundred millilitres to be carried in hand luggage. Finavia opened a completely new security checkpoint at Helsinki Airport in the summer of 2022. The eight state-of-the-art security screening lines use new technology based on computer tomography. Thanks to the new scanners, liquids and electronic devices no longer have to be removed from hand luggage.

The new devices have so far only been used at the security checkpoint in the departure hall of Helsinki Airport. The current restrictions on liquids continue to apply to passengers departing from Finavia's regional airports and to passengers passing through the security checkpoint for transfer passengers at Helsinki Airport.
