Nordic hotel group Strawberry takes over Hotel Mestari in Helsinki
With the acquisition of Hotel Mestari in Helsinki, the Nordic hotel group Strawberry is expanding its portfolio and strengthening its position as the largest and most versatile hotel chain in Helsinki. The 237-room hotel will be the nineteenth hotel in Finland and will be part of the well-known Clarion hotel chain from the summer.
The building, which dates back to the 1930s, has constantly evolved and was finally converted into a hotel in the early 2000s. Now the building has reached another milestone in its history and will welcome its guests as the Clarion Hotel Mestari from 13 August 2024.
Now with 237 rooms, Hotel Mestari joins as the nineteenth Strawberry Hotel in Finland. This acquisition enhances the company's status as the largest and most versatile hotel chain in Helsinki's city center. Situated on Fredrikinkatu, the hotel is just a brief walk from Helsinki Central Station and is surrounded by the capital's vibrant bars, restaurants, and shopping areas.
All employees of Hotel Mestari will remain with Strawberry, and all existing guest bookings will be seamlessly transferred to Strawberry.
Strawberry has been making significant moves in the Finnish hotel market lately. Besides acquiring Hotel AX, Hotel Katajanokka, Hotel Sveitsi, and now Hotel Mestari, the company has unveiled a hotel project in Turku and launched the Comfort Hotel and Clarion Hotel at Helsinki Airport. Consequently, all of Strawberry's hotel brands are now present in Finland.
