Waldorf Astoria to open its first hotel in Finland

Hilton brings its iconic luxury brand to Helsinki

Hilton has announced the signing of a management agreement with the M&L Group for Hotel Maria in Helsinki, which will be rebranded as Waldorf Astoria Helsinki later this year. This marks the debut of the Waldorf Astoria brand in Finland.

Luxury in a historic setting

Located in Helsinki’s historic Kruunuaukio district, the property dates back to 1885 and features 116 rooms. Guests can look forward to refined amenities including a restaurant, bar, fitness centre, and a Nordic wellness spa complete with a traditional Finnish sauna. According to Hilton, the hotel will offer timeless elegance, world-class dining, and unforgettable guest experiences.

Expanding a global luxury portfolio

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts currently encompasses 67 properties worldwide either open or in development. Recent openings include Waldorf Astoria Osaka and Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cavique, with iconic additions like Waldorf Astoria New York and Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé to follow.

Looking ahead to 2026, the brand is preparing for high-profile launches in London, Sydney, Hanoi, Jakarta, Tangier, Kuala Lumpur, and Jaipur. With Helsinki, Waldorf Astoria secures its first foothold in Finland.
