NordicMarketing organized another sales tour for Finnish customers. This time, three suppliers from the Oulu region visited 6 selected tour operators in Munich and the surrounding area in Bavaria in three days.

Direct flights with Lufthansa from Munich to Oulu

Starting December 16th, Lufthansa, the renowned German airline, will commence bi-weekly flights to Oulu from Munich, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These flights will continue until the conclusion of March 2024. Consequently, Visit Oulu recognized the need for a swift outreach to tour operators in Bavaria. The objective was to promptly acquaint them with the offerings of the Finnish west coast region, foster valuable connections, and showcase a diverse range of accommodations, attractions, and activities.

One of the new highlights is the Pohjola Route, a round trip linking different towns in the region - whether by car, camper van, bicycle or public transport.

In addition to the Oulu region, the winter sports resort of Syöte, just under two hours' drive from Oulu, and the picturesque little coastal town of Raahe, about an hour south of Oulu, also presented themselves to German tour operators.

Oulu, designated as the European Capital of Culture for 2026, has captured the attention of a significant number of German travelers. This vibrant university city, along with its neighboring regions such as Raahe and the Syöte region, all contribute to the cultural richness of this Capital of Culture. Raahe stands out with its beautifully preserved historic district adorned with colorful wooden houses and an array of captivating museums.
