Spectacular viewing platform can still be visited

Trollstigen is one of the most famous tourist roads in Norway, located around 20 kilometres south of Åndalsnes. In 2024, several rockfalls occurred in the area, so the Trollstigen mountain road will remain closed for the rest of the year for safety reasons. The Trollstigen plateau is still accessible.

The municipality of Møre og Romsdal has closed the Trollstigen between Åndalsnes and the plateau for the rest of the year. The road is open as far as Trollstigfoten. Driving, cycling and hiking are forbidden in the closed area due to the high risk of falling rocks.

Visitors can still reach the viewing platform on the Trollstigen plateau from Geiranger (Valldal). The Trollstigen Café and the Trollstigen Gjestegård café in Isterdalen will also remain open. Tourists can enjoy the famous view of Trollstigen from the Trollstigenfoten parking place in Isterdalen.
