39 outstanding hotels awarded across Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden
On 8 October 2025, the MICHELIN Guide awarded its prestigious MICHELIN Keys in the Nordic Countries for the very first time — marking a milestone moment for Northern hospitality.
The MICHELIN Key recognises hotels that offer much more than just a place to stay: they create memorable, characterful experiences for travellers. Each property is assessed by MICHELIN’s hotel experts according to five criteria:
- Architectural and interior design quality
- Personality and character
- Service excellence and consistency
- Value for experience
- Contribution to the local area
Two-Key Hotels – the Nordics’ finest
Only four hotels received the coveted Two MICHELIN Keys, representing the most exceptional stays in the region:
- Hotel d’Angleterre, Copenhagen – A historic Danish landmark combining royal elegance with modern Nordic design.
- Storfjord Hotel, Ålesund – A hand-built lafta-style hideaway with panoramic fjord views.
- Walaker Hotel, Solvorn – Norway’s oldest family-run hotel, nestled between mountains and fjords.
- Grand Hôtel Stockholm, Stockholm – Timeless glamour by the harbour, opposite the Royal Palace.
One-Key Hotels – character, style and soul
A further 35 properties received One MICHELIN Key, celebrating their unique charm and strong sense of place.
