Ryanair announces opening of new base in Copenhagen

Ryanair, leading airline in Europe, announced that it will open a two-aircraft base in Copenhagen from December 2023. This expansion is part of a $200 million investment in new aircraft and is expected to create up to 100 direct job opportunities for pilots, cabin crew and engineers.

Ryanair, already the third largest airline in Copenhagen, currently operates 20 routes and carries 2.3 million passengers annually. The establishment of the new base, consisting of two aircraft, will enable Ryanair to offer particularly cost-effective fares. This will benefit Danish citizens and visitors who want to depart early in the morning or arrive late in the evening but cannot afford the high fares of the state-subsidised airlines SAS and Norwegian.

Copenhagen will thus become Ryanair's second Danish base alongside Billund. Ryanair's 2023 winter flight schedule for Copenhagen includes a total of 24 routes. These include destinations such as Düsseldorf, Faro, Paris and Warsaw, as well as increased connections to Gdansk and Krakow.
