Rail travel to Vilnius becomes easier

Improved connections via Warsaw create new opportunities for multi-country itineraries

Travelling to Vilnius by train has become more convenient. Lithuanian rail operator LTG Link has expanded its international services and improved connections between Warsaw and Vilnius, reducing travel times and making transfers at the Polish-Lithuanian border smoother.  

For tour operators, the enhanced rail links create new opportunities to develop itineraries across Central and Northern Europe. Travelers can now combine Berlin, Warsaw and Vilnius more easily while choosing rail as an alternative to flying.

The journey becomes part of the experience

Passengers can travel from Berlin to Warsaw by Eurocity train before continuing to Vilnius the following day. At the border station of Mockava, the transfer takes place on the same platform, making the onward journey straightforward.  

As interest in slower, more immersive travel continues to grow, rail is becoming more than just a means of transport. For many travelers, the journey itself is an important part of the overall experience.

Growing opportunities for slow travel

Improved rail infrastructure supports the development of sustainable travel products and multi-country itineraries. At the same time, Vilnius offers a compact historic centre, extensive green spaces and easy access to nature, making it an attractive destination for rail travelers.
