ÖÖD Hotels plans luxurious accommodation in Glashütten in the middle of nature

ÖÖD Hotels is expanding its activities to Finland with the aim of building 60-80 glass cabins throughout the country. The first cabins are due to be completed shortly in Pyhtää Versso, and an expansion to Mikkeli is planned. Discussions are already underway for locations such as Naantali and Kuusamo.

Founded in 2018 by brothers Jaak and Andreas Tiik, ÖÖD Hotels specialises in the planning and operation of glassworks in picturesque locations around the world. Over the next 3-5 years, the company plans to build 60-80 glassworks in different parts of Finland. In search of suitable landowners in archipelago and lake areas, on the south coast and in Lapland, ÖÖD strives to integrate its structures seamlessly into the diverse natural landscapes.

Sustainable luxury travel in Finland

Andreas Tiik, CEO of ÖÖD Hotels, is delighted about the first ÖÖD destination in Finland and emphasises the company's commitment to minimising its environmental impact. The cabins use local materials, energy-efficient lighting and avoid single-use plastic. ÖÖD Hotels wants to respect the local environment and leave it unspoilt so that visitors can experience nature at its best.

This investment is particularly welcomed in the tourism industry, which has faced challenges in recent years. The concept of luxury accommodation in glass cabins enriches the Finnish tourism offer and fits well with the country's strengths in nature tourism.

ÖÖD Hotels strengthens Finland's economy through sustainable tourism investments

Foreign investments, such as those from ÖÖD Hotels, play a crucial role in supporting the Finnish economy. The first investments in Eastern Finland are seen as a positive step that fills the gap left by the decline in Russian tourism. Invest in Finland has facilitated the introduction of ÖÖD Hotels to the Finnish tourism market and connected the company with regional players across the country.

ÖÖD Hotels' focus on sustainability and integration into the local environment matches Finland's strengths in nature-based tourism. The innovative use of materials and the energy-efficient design of the cabins on the island of Versso demonstrate the company's commitment to creating an environmentally friendly and immersive experience for visitors.
