Opening of Scandic hotels in Garden Helsinki project

Scandic Hotels has signed a long-term lease agreement with Projekti GH Oy for two hotels in Garden Helsinki. The two hotels will offer a total of 459 rooms and are expected to open in 2028. Scandic thus strengthens its presence in Helsinki, a key destination with increasing demand from business and leisure travellers.

Scandic will be the exclusive hotel operator of Garden Helsinki, a major urban development project in Finland, just 2 km from the city centre. Garden Helsinki combines sports, entertainment, restaurants, offices and flats. The proximity to the city centre and attractions leads to increasing demand for hotel accommodation for business and leisure travellers. Jens Mathiesen, President and CEO of Scandic Hotels Group, highlights the expansion: "Scandic is expanding in key locations and presenting our first Scandic Go brand in the growing economy segment in the Finnish market."

"I am very excited to open the Scandic and Scandic Go hotels at Garden Helsinki together with Projekti GH Oy and my colleagues here in Finland. These hotels are a significant addition to the Töölö district and the new event arena. As the exclusive hotel operator of Garden Helsinki, we will offer two hotels with a total of 459 rooms that are accessible to all guests, whether they are looking for a full-service experience or want to explore the city and participate in local events." Laura Tarkka, head of Scandic Hotels in Finland, emphasises the environmental friendliness of the new hotels, which will carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. "The landlords place great emphasis on sustainability and will have the buildings certified according to internationally recognised environmental standards such as LEED or BREEAM."
