Norwegian achieves top ratings in global CDP ranking

Norwegian has shown impressive progress in its climate initiatives and achieved the highest score in various categories of the global climate ranking of the international organization CDP. The airline achieved an overall score of B, an improvement on the previous year. Norwegian performed particularly well in the categories of risk management processes, risk reporting and reporting and verification of direct and indirect emissions from energy supply (Scope 1 and 2).

CDP, also known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, acts as the environmental organization for the global environmental reporting system and publishes annual climate ranking results. Norway's commitment to reducing its climate impact is in line with its ambitious goals, as evidenced by the improved scores in several categories of the 2023 assessment.

Anders Fagernæs, Vice President Sustainability at Norwegian, expressed satisfaction with the recognition and emphasized the airline's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The commitment to transparency through the Carbon Disclosure Project has played a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for environmental responsibility from investors, financial institutions, customers and policy makers.

Norwegian's climate change efforts, which began in 2021 with CDP, have yielded positive results. The airline is focusing on fossil-free fuels, fleet rejuvenation and advanced weather systems for more efficient navigation. Fagernæs emphasized that transparency, reporting and openness are crucial to enable customers to make informed and environmentally conscious decisions.
