Norwegian Airlines signs acquisition of Widerøe

Norwegian Air has signed an agreement with WF Holding AS to acquire Widerøe. Widerøe is the largest regional airline in Norway.

For a price of NOK 1.125 million, Norwegian Air has bought Widerøe. According to Norwegian, the acquisition promises customers a wider route network and more choice, and it can secure local jobs. Thanks to the new connection of Widerøe's extensive regional route network with Norwegian's attractive domestic and international routes, passengers will get better connectivity.

Widerøe is to continue as an independent company with its own brand, organisation and headquarters in Bodø. Widerøe covers around 40 small and medium-sized airports across Norway, as well as some larger airports in Europe. Norwegian, meanwhile, offers more than 300 routes to 114 destinations in the Nordic countries and Europe.
