Alcohol tests will soon be possible at customs checks in Norway

As of 01 July this year, customs authorities in Norway are allowed to carry out alcohol tests during customs checks. The test can be requested at the border as part of a goods transshipment check.

Since 2021, the number of drivers reported for drunk driving in Norway has increased by 23 percent. The government therefore wants to strengthen drunk driving controls with new measures. From 14 June, the police will also tighten their drug controls together with "Aksion rus".
