10 days quarantine for travellers from the Netherlands

Norway reacts to the increasing corona infections and updates the travel advice. From Saturday 15th August, the Norwegian Government will introduce entry quarantine requirements for travellers from five additional countries in the EU / EEA, as well as travellers from the Faroe Islands, six regions in Sweden and two regions in Denmark. Also for travellers from the Netherlands the ten-day quarantine is mandatory from 15 August.

From 15 August, the red status also applies to:

  • Netherlands
  • Iceland
  • Malta
  • Poland
  • Cyprus
  • Faroe Islands
  • Regions in Sweden: Östergötland, Blekinge, Värmland, Uppsala, Dalarna, Örebro
  • Regions in Denmark: Zealand (except the Greater Copenhagen region), Central Jutland

All green countries become yellow

Norway marks the countries in three categories - green, yellow and red. In "green areas" transmission is considered to be lower and quarantine is not required upon arrival in Norway. "Yellow areas" have increased risk, but quarantine is not required on arrival in Norway. In "red areas" transmission is higher and quarantine is mandatory on arrival in Norway.

To avoid misunderstandings and to emphasise the recommendation to avoid all non-essential travel abroad, the Government has decided that the countries and regions that were marked with green on the map should now be marked as yellow. Currently, no countries are classed as green.
