Get-together for tour operators in Switzerland

On behalf of Fjord Norway and Edelweiss Air, Nordic Marketing invited Swiss tour operators to an evening event last Tuesday in Zurich.

Stian Arvid Hegland, Deputy Head of Mission at the Norwegian Embassy in Berne, kindly opened the evening. Having lived in Switzerland for three years, he mentioned the close relationship between Switzerland and Norway. Both countries share a love for nature and the outdoors.

Direct flights with Edelweiss Air from Zurich to Bergen

"The gateway to the fjords" - this is how the Norwegian city of Bergen is also known due to its location. From June 2024, Edelweiss Air will be flying non-stop from Zurich to Bergen in the summer, bringing the gateway to the fjords right to your doorstep with a lean flight time of just 2.5 hours. Flight days are Saturdays and Wednesdays.

News, Networking and Apéro

Representatives from Edelweiss Air, Visit Bergen, Visit Hardangerfjord, Visit Sognefjord and De Historiske took the opportunity and presented the tour operators with helpful information about the fjord destination and the different accommodations, sights and activities in the region. Short videos with some breathtaking footage made the audience gasp with excitement.

The presentations provided lots of fresh and inspiring ideas and so, to continue with good talks and conversations, the buffet was opened. In a relaxed ambience, there was ample time – and food -  to get to know one another, ask questions in detail and also exchange ideas with colleagues.

The highlight of the evening was the tombola with a flight in Economy class to Bergen as the main prize, sponsored by Edelweiss Air. There were many smaller and bigger prizes, such as a drinking bottle recycled from sea plastic from the Sognefjord, an overnight stay at Bekkjarvik gjestgiveri or a bottle of Hardanger Aquavit, which the winners happily accepted to great applause. Congratulations to all the winners.
