Six Senses Svart develops energy-positive project and aims to go off the grid

Scheduled to open in 2024, the 94-room Six Senses Svart will combine futuristic design and technological innovation with earthy, organic materials that use the least energy possible. To minimise the impact on site, Six Senses Svart stands on stilts above the crystal clear waters of Holandsfjord at the foot of the glacier.

Major pillars of the design concept are environment and nature, sustainability, technological innovation, wellness and mindfulness. These are interlinked and directly influence each other. The project was planned over a long period of time to ensure that all parts support the vision. The result should set a new standard for climate-neutral travel.

Six Senses Svart aims to inspire its guests to think one step further and, in collaboration with the local community, raise awareness of the possibilities of sustainable travel and the importance of the polar region. The project is committed to not endangering the fragile and pristine glacier environment, as well as the beauty and quality of the location.
