FlixBus confirms continuation of Finland-Poland route

German bus operator FlixBus has confirmed the continuation of its international route from Vaasa, Finland, to Warsaw, Poland, following a one-month assessment in the Finnish market. This decision was outlined in a press release. FlixBus also revealed plans for further expansion in the Finnish market in spring 2024 and expressed interest in collaborating with local partners.

The review showed that over half of the tickets sold for this route were for domestic travel within Finland, primarily for journeys between Helsinki and Turku. Additionally, passengers showed enthusiasm for international travel, with destinations extending to Poland and Estonia. FlixBus initially expanded its Finnish services on July 27 by extending an existing route from Warsaw to Tallinn. Michal Leman, Managing Director of FlixBus in Poland, Ukraine, and the Baltic states, stated that this expansion was in response to the growing demand for sustainable and affordable travel between Finland, the Baltic states, and Central Eastern Europe. FlixBus aimed to provide a seamless travel experience, eliminating the need for multiple connections between different modes of transportation. This collaboration between FlixBus and Tallink created convenient travel options for Finnish residents, both domestically and internationally.

Notably, FlixBus offered daily connections and allowed passengers to bring bicycles onboard. In the first month of operation, more than 100 bicycles were transported along the entire route. Besides Helsinki, FlixBus passengers can commence their journeys from various Finnish cities, including Espoo, Salo, Turku, Raisio, Rauma, Pori, Närpes, and Vaasa.
