New flight connection between Rovaniemi and Tromsø with Finnair

In December 2023, Finnair plans to offer direct flights between Rovaniemi Airport and Tromsø in Norway. During the 2023-2024 winter season, this route will be operated twice a week.

From this winter, travellers will have the opportunity to fly directly from Rovaniemi in Lapland to northern Norway as Finnair opens a connection to Tromsø on 2 December 2023. This service will operate two days a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays, until 30 March 2024. The flights between Helsinki, Rovaniemi and Tromsø will be organised by Finnair as so-called triangular flights.

Finnair uses ATR 72 aircraft with 68 seats, operated by the airline Norra. For bookings, travellers can use Finnair's official website. Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President for Route Development at Finavia, was positive about the new connection between Lapland and northern Norway. He emphasised that Rovaniemi Airport will open over ten new routes in the coming winter season, which should further improve accessibility to the region.

Finnair also flies several times a week from Helsinki to the Norwegian destinations of Bergen, Bodø, Oslo and Trondheim.
