New direct flights from Brussels, Paris and Zurich for winter 2026
Finnair is expanding its northern network by adding new direct services to Finnish Lapland for the 2026 winter season. The additional routes make the region even easier to reach for travelers heading to the Arctic during the peak winter months.
Direct routes to Rovaniemi and Kittilä
For winter 2026, Finnair will introduce three new direct flights from Central Europe to Lapland:
- Paris → Rovaniemi: 2 weekly flights
- Brussels → Kittilä: 2 weekly flights
- Zurich → Kittilä: 2 weekly flights
Kittilä serves as the gateway to Levi, one of Finland’s most popular ski resorts. Rovaniemi, famed for Santa Claus Village, remains a highlight for winter travelers.
More frequency across Northern Scandinavia
Finnair is also expanding cross-border connections within the north. The existing route Helsinki – Ivalo – Kirkenes will see its frequency rise to six weekly flights in 2026. Additional services to Alta, Stavanger, and Tromsø further improve regional accessibility.
Lapland remains a priority
During the busiest time of the upcoming winter season, Finnair will operate 72 weekly flights to Rovaniemi, ten more than last winter. December in particular will see record activity, with up to 16 Finnair arrivals per day during the Santa Claus peak weeks.
With its expanded winter schedule, Finnair reinforces Lapland’s role as a key Nordic destination and improves global access to the region’s major winter attractions.
