Finnair expands in Sweden with new routes from Stockholm and Umeå for summer 2026

Finnair strengthens its presence in Sweden

Finnair is expanding its operations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Umeå Airport by adding three new destinations as part of the summer 2026 schedule. The move reflects strong demand for improved Nordic and international connections to and from Sweden.

New from Stockholm Arlanda: Stavanger

From 29 March 2026, Finnair will launch a daily service between Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) and Stavanger (SVG) in western Norway. The route enhances ties between the two countries and provides additional options for both business travellers and holidaymakers.

Two new routes from Umeå: Vaasa and Helsinki

Finnair is significantly increasing its offering in northern Sweden by adding two new routes from Umeå Airport:

• Umeå – Vaasa
• Umeå – Helsinki

The route will operate as a triangle flight via Vaasa, offering new travel opportunities across the Gulf of Bothnia and improving connectivity within the Nordic region. The link to Helsinki also strengthens access to Finnair’s long-haul network.

Part of a broader network expansion

The Swedish additions are part of Finnair’s wider European expansion for summer 2026, including several new routes introduced earlier in the year. For Swedish travelers, the growing network through Helsinki – combined with the expanded winter connections to Finnish Lapland – provides more options than ever before.
