Finnair will resume direct flights from Helsinki to Tartu, Estonia, from March 31, 2024. The new route will offer passengers two daily flights, six days a week, all year round.

"The second Finnair route to Estonia is an excellent addition to Helsinki Airport's route offering. The scheduled flights offer passengers even more opportunities to enjoy smooth air connections between Finland and Estonia," says Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President for Route Development at Finavia.

The flights will be operated with an ATR-72 aircraft and the flight time between Helsinki and Tartu is approximately 40 minutes. The route will be flown twice a day, with the exception of Saturday. Finnair also offers up to ten daily flights to Tallinn, Estonia.

Tartu - cultural diversity and historical charm

Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia, is a cultural and historical gem. Often referred to as the intellectual center of the country, the city is home to the renowned University of Tartu, one of the oldest universities in Northern Europe. The historic old town of Tartu is a testament to centuries of history and is lined with charming buildings, museums and cozy cafés.

Tartu is also known for its vibrant cultural scene, including music festivals, art exhibitions and theater performances. The city is picturesquely situated on the banks of the Emajõgi River, which gives it an idyllic atmosphere. Visitors can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature in the parks and green areas.
