Reinefjord in Norway gets electric catamaran

In spring 2023, a fully electronic catamaran will be deployed in the Reinefjord in Lofoten. The propulsion system will be supplied by ABB. With a length of 20 metres, the ship can transport 75 passengers.

The ship saves 56,000 litres of diesel and 177 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This corresponds to the emissions of about 90 fossil-fuelled cars. The catamaran reaches a speed of 12 knots over a distance of around 12 nautical miles.
