Construction work on several attractions in Norway ends this summer
After several years of construction work, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration Statens vegvesen is reopening several tourist attractions along the Norwegian Scenic Routes this summer with a new look.
Torghatten’ reopens on 14 June. Torghatten is part of the Helgeland Scenic Route. Tourists from all over the world come here to see the impressive hole in the mountain Torghatten. To make the attraction even more accessible to tourists, rocks have been secured and path systems modernised. There is also a new parking area and a new service building.
The opening of the service building with café and toilets at Gjende along the Valdresflye scenic route follows on 19 June. In mid-September, the viewing platforms, paths and toilets at Vøringsfossen along the Hardangervidda Scenic Route will be completed.
Work will also be completed this year at the Liasanden rest area and viewpoint on the Norwegian Scenic Route Sognefjellet and at Hamningberg along the Norwegian Scenic Route Varanger.
