All Hurtigruten mail ships are up and running again

As of July, Hurtigruten will once again be using all seven ships on the classic postal ship route between Bergen and Kirkenes. Five ships have already sailed the route since January this year. Starting on July 4, the MS Nordlys will also depart from Bergen, and on July 10, the MS Nordnorge will also be sailing again.

Since strict entry restrictions still apply for foreign travellers to Norway, a trip with Hurtigruten is reserved for Norwegians or foreigners with permanent residence in Norway for the time being.

From this year, however, it is not only the ships of Hurtigruten that sail exclusively on the traditional mail ship route. Four ships of the shipping company Havila Kystruten AS are also allowed to sail the coastal route for the first time.
