Viking Line, a pioneer in sustainable shipping, presents its latest innovation - the Green Sea Conference. This initiative reduces greenhouse gas emissions from seminar travel by 90% and meets the needs of environmentally conscious corporate customers.

Each year, some 600,000 passengers take part in group or conference voyages on Viking Line ships. In response to the renewed popularity of post-COVID maritime conferences, Viking Line is expanding its conference capacity on the Helsinki route, particularly with the return of Viking Cinderella, which is operating alongside Gabriella.

The Green Sea Conferences offer a sustainable alternative for conference planners and enable a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per participant compared to conventional conferences. The eco-friendly option is available on all sailings of Viking Glory and Viking Grace, the company's climate-friendly ships on the Turku route.

Philip Sjöstrand, Sales Manager at Viking Line, emphasizes that the new seminar product meets customers' wishes for a cost-effective combination of work and pleasure while keeping the group together. The Green Sea Conferences' lower emissions are achieved through the use of renewable biofuel, which customers choose for their voyage.

Marika Immonen, Head of Customer Experience, highlights the comprehensive sustainability assessment for all components of a conference trip. Viking Line ensures that sustainable choices, from serving organic coffee to reducing food waste, are visible to participants. The company's commitment extends to recycling all waste generated as well as converting food waste into biogas.
