Start of construction of the Break Sokos Hotel Himos

New Sokos Hotel in the Finnish Himos ski resort to open in 2025

Construction work has begun on the new Break Sokos Hotel Himos apartment hotel at the foot of the western slopes of the Himos ski resort in central Finland. A complex consisting of three buildings with a total of 121 apartments and a restaurant with a terrace is being built there. The hotel is due to be completed by November 2025.

The name of the hotel, Break Sokos Hotels Himos, was announced at the foundation stone laying ceremony on June 17, 2024. A time capsule was traditionally hidden in the foundation of the building. The apartment hotel, scheduled for completion in November 2025, will be part of Sokos Hotels, Finland's most prestigious hotel chain.

The apartments will each have 1-3 bedrooms, a combined living room and kitchen and a sauna. The total number of beds will be almost 500. In the apartments, guests will be able to enjoy high quality and comfortable accommodation as well as an easy access to skiing activities.
In addition to traditional services, the hotel will offer, among other things, self-service machines for check-in and room key preparation. A large parking lot with an ABC charging station for electric cars will be set up in front of the hotel.
On the second floor of the building closest to the slope, there will be a restaurant with 180 seats and a terrace overlooking the slopes.

Sokos Hotels is the most renowned hotel chain in Finland with 46 hotels in Finland and one in Tallinn. All hotels are located in city centers or in the heart of leisure destinations with good transport connections.
