Scandic Go is expanding further with the opening of a new hotel in Oulu in 2025

Through a long-term lease agreement with real estate developer SRV, Scandic plans to introduce a new Scandic Go featuring 144 rooms in Oulu, Finland. Positioned centrally in the largest city of Northern Finland, the hotel is scheduled to commence operations in the latter half of 2025.

Strategically situated in Oulu's city center, the new Scandic Go will offer direct access to prominent landmarks such as the main square, the historic market hall, and numerous acclaimed restaurants and shops in the city's core. Renowned as the hub of Northern Finland, Oulu boasts prominence in technology, science, and education, appealing to both domestic and international business travelers. Moreover, the region's hotel market holds allure for leisure travelers, especially during the summer months, drawn by outdoor pursuits, festivals, and cultural events. Notably, tourism associated with phenomena like the Northern Lights and mountain activities has witnessed a surge, establishing the city as a sought-after year-round destination.

The rapid growth of the economy segment within the hotel industry is indicative of evolving travel patterns and the financial constraints faced by many travelers. Scandic Go distinguishes itself by offering guests affordability, appealing design, seamless self-service, and round-the-clock availability of breakfast and warm meals.

Upon its opening, the new hotel will also undergo certification for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, affirming its commitment to environmental sustainability, a hallmark of the Nordic countries.

The opening will bolster Scandic's position in Oulu's hotel market. Following the launch of Scandic Go, the company will manage a collective of three hotels, boasting a total of 565 rooms within the city.
