Cirium’s October report confirms SAS as Europe’s most on-time airline for the fourth time this year

SAS has secured the top spot as Europe’s most punctual airline in Cirium’s October On-Time Performance report. With 84.43% of all flights arriving as scheduled, the Scandinavian airline continues to demonstrate operational reliability even as traffic grows and weather conditions shift across the Nordic region.

This is already the fourth time in 2025 that SAS has led the European punctuality ranking — adding to a strong performance earlier this year, when the airline was named the world’s most punctual airline twice.

“Being on time is a Scandinavian promise”

For SAS, punctuality is more than an operational goal. CEO Anko van der Werff highlights its role in customer trust: “Reliability is at the heart of SAS and what our customers expect from us. Being recognized yet again for punctuality shows our consistency and that our teams deliver on this promise every day across our network. In Scandinavia, being on time is more than a metric – it reflects trust, respect, and keeping promises.”

His statement connects SAS’ performance to Scandinavian values — precision, dependability and respect for travelers’ time.

Strengthened by a clear brand identity

The recognition comes shortly after the introduction of SAS’ new brand campaign, “We’re proud to serve the toughest crowd.” The campaign celebrates the high expectations of Scandinavian travellers and communicates SAS’ ambition to meet and exceed those expectations.

Copenhagen Airport: a critical hub

Copenhagen Airport remains essential for SAS’ network performance. As the airline’s main hub and a major gateway for travellers across Scandinavia and beyond, its coordinated operations contribute significantly to smooth transfers and stable flight schedules. Despite being located in one of Europe’s most weather-sensitive regions, the airport’s infrastructure and traffic management support SAS in maintaining reliable operations throughout the year.
