New feature allows travellers to share bag location data with the airline
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has introduced a new digital feature designed to improve the process of recovering misplaced luggage. Travelers can now securely share the live location of their baggage with SAS using the Find Hub platform. The new “Share Item Location” function allows passengers to send location data from a compatible luggage tracker directly to the airline’s service team if a bag goes missing.
Faster baggage recovery
Through the Find Hub app, travelers can view their tagged items on a map. If a bag is misplaced, customers can generate a secure, time-limited link and share it with SAS via the airline’s self-service reporting tool. This gives airline staff access to location data, helping them identify and recover luggage more quickly. The shared data is encrypted and travelers can stop sharing at any time.
More transparency for travelers
The solution also gives travelers a more active role in the process. Instead of repeatedly contacting customer service for updates, passengers can follow the location of their luggage themselves.
Expanding digital travel services
SAS is working with partners across the travel ecosystem to integrate digital tools that improve reliability and reduce travel stress. Several major international airlines already support location sharing through Find Hub. The airline plans to continue expanding its digital services to enhance the overall travel experience.
