SAS Focuses on Green Innovation and Energy Efficiency
SAS has once again been ranked first in the airline category in Denmark and Sweden in the 2026 Sustainable Brand Index. The study is based on consumer surveys and reflects how customers perceive the ecological and social responsibility of brands—not their documented sustainability performance.
The top ranking reflects trust in SAS’ long-term measures: a more modern fleet, more efficient operations, and partnerships for alternative energy sources in aviation. At the same time, rising fuel prices and geopolitical developments highlight the importance of expanding sustainable energy pathways.
SAS is therefore actively working on projects for Power-to-X fuels and renewable energy pathways in Scandinavia. The goal is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and make aviation more sustainable and future-proof. Learn more about SAS.
