Norwegian fall experience with Fjord Norway in Frankfurt
On October22, Fjord Norway invited to an exclusive dinner event in Frankfurt to promote the region as a year-round destination.
The event brought together tour operators, representatives from Lufthansa Group and Discover Airlines, members of the press and destination partners for an evening of Norwegian cuisine, informative presentations and networking.
A special highlight was the culinary part, for which a chef from Norway created a delicious 6-course menu and prepared it on site using Norwegian ingredients.
The evening kicked-off with cider from the Hardanger region. Tom Anker Skrede, representative of the destination Ålesund und Sunnmøre, in the very north of the fjord region, reported on everything from breathtaking accommodation to exciting outdoor experiences in the entire destination and provided valuable insights into the many opportunities to enjoy the fjord region, especially in winter. Videos with breathtaking images and impressions from Norway brought the offer to life and inspired the participants to explore Fjord Norway further.
Florian Homm, representative of Discover Airlines, gave insights into the direct flights connecting Frankfurt and Munich with the most important destinations in Fjord Norway, Bergen, Stavanger and Ålesund. These direct flights allow travelers to reach the unique fjord region comfortably all year round.
Fjord Norway: a culinary highlight
The highlight of the evening was the exquisite six-course menu. Sebastian Schläwicke, chef at the restaurant Smaken av Ryfylke, took us on an unforgettable culinary journey through Fjord Norway. Each dish showcased the different flavors and high-quality ingredients of the individual regions in Fjord Norway. During the dinner, Sebastian shared his inspiration for each dish and the rich culinary traditions of the region. The dinner was true proof that Fjord Norway is a must-visit destination for food lovers.
After dinner, 9 representatives from across the destination were eager to answer questions and provide information about their respective regions. In 1:1 meetings with the tour operators, the unique attractions, accommodation and activities of the regions were highlighted and conveyed a comprehensive picture of Fjord Norway as a diverse destination.
The evening concluded with a tombola, prizes being an overnight stay for two in one of the Historic Hotels and a fjord cruise sponsored by Rødne Fjord Cruise. Many thanks to the generous sponsors of the prizes and congratulations to the happy winner and loads of fun exploring the fjord region this winter.
Fjord Norway: A year-round destination in focus
Fjord Norway is well on its way to becoming a sought-after year-round destination. On this evening, Fjord Norway once again managed to successfully showcase the region's culinary delights and numerous offerings, leaving the guests with a great appreciation for the special event as well as the rich experiences and activities the destination has to offer all year round. The taste of the fjords was still on everyone's tongue. The event's success is a testament to the dedication and cooperation of everyone involved, airline representatives, travel partners and the press.
