Holland Norway Lines offers new ferry service from Kristiansand to Eemshaven

From 7 April 2022, travelling to Norway by car will be easier. The start-up company Holland Norway Lines is making the new route possible. The route connects Eemshaven (Groningen) in the Netherlands with Kristiansand in Norway, and will last 18 hours. This provides a new opportunity to travel between Northern and Western Europe without flying.

The MS Romantika, a ship previously used on the Riga-Stockholm route, will be used for the voyage. It has room for 1,500 passengers and 350 cars. For those seeking a true "Nordic experience", there is a sauna area on board. The ship will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, in Eemshaven in Groningen at 3pm and arrive in Kristiansand at 9am the following day. Return trips will leave Kristiansand on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 3 pm.
